Great Wolf Lodge

We went to Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate Luca's 10th birthday and we had such a great time!  Our expectations were low, as we usually shy from these types of places.  We thought we'd give it a shot and we all keep saying that it was the best way to celebrate a birthday!

By far, the "green slide" was a highlight.  You climb into that coffin like chamber and wait for the countdown before the floor drops out from under you and you shoot through a tube.  There is Luca giving the thumbs up.

We were sad to leave!  We kept thanking Luca for turning 10!!  Happy birthday sweet boy.

Award Ceremony and Final Cotillion Dance!

These are the 4.0 GPA students from the 6h grade at Mia's middle school.  The spring awards ceremony celebrated these students and also the students who received special recognition from teachers.  Mia was recognized for not only top grades but also for achievement in art, a class she adores.

The final cotillion night was a night to show parents what has been learned.  The kids could all dance with their parents.  V and Mia had a great time!

Mia and Tilly danced with boys, sure, but they also danced with each other which made my heart warm.  Honestly the best part of cotillion was spending time together.

Boston

Meet Boston.  Named after the city that V and I lived in when we decided to make a go at life as partners.  A city all four of us love for it's character and unique charm.  The city my dad is from....the guy who taught me to love dogs.  After losing Bijou, we wondered if we could ever open our hearts again.  Creating a relationship is a risk, but adopting her reminded us that risks can be so rewarding.

She's a rescue pup, a bit scrappy and pretty tough.  She's sweet and easy with a mild temperament.

This is the kids with her when we first met her.  The question always comes up, "How do you know when something is right?  When a relationship is a fit?"  Well, I believe you don't really know.  You go by a feeling you have and you just hope that in the end, a bond develops.  I've been thinking a lot about loyalty lately and I have concluded that you aren't born with it, it is earned and worked for.  Trust needs to be developed.  It's fun having a puppy because you see this very thing happening every day.

Easter 2019

I hosted Easter for family and it was exactly as it should be...meaningful and fun.
