And suddenly, it's summer....

Mia drew this and we just love it.  This defines summer to me.  

 We headed up to Manitou Springs on our first official day of summer to tackle the incline.  The kids did an amazing job!

We then hit the Cliff Dwelling museum which was pretty cool!  

 Swim team is of course in full swing. 

Last Day of Third and 5th Grade!

 These two made it successfully through another year!  They are so excited/sad to leave the year behind.  Mia will start middle school in the fall so this day was a special one for her, her last day in elementary school. 

 The fifth grade continuation was really sweet.  It was a luau theme and the kids came dressed fittingly.  They had an hour long ceremony and then all headed to the pool for a pool party all afternoon. 

Nana joined us for the ceremony.  She has been such a huge part of the kids' lives, helping with school pick up, etc.  She knows all of their friends, and their friends' families, so this continuation was special to her as well.  

 This is a terrible picture because I zoomed in on my phone to get it.  We were SO PROUD of Mia as she stood in front of everyone and shared what fifth grade meant to her and what she wants to do in the future.  The sky is lit for this girl.

5th Grade Colonial Days

 The Fifth graders at the Mia and Luca's school host a living museum at their school to sum up their study of Colonialism in the United States.  It's an amazing opportunity for the kids to actually try so many of the crafts, foods, dances, etc. from that time period.  I went in to teach the kids how to make rag rugs so they could set up a shop on the actual museum day to make their own.  It was so fun!!
