A Second Grader and a Kindergartener: A tale of finally having two school aged children

This little leggy and toothy dear started her second grade year.  She is so excited to be back to her beloved studies and LOVES school so far, except for the boys that she's seated next to because one picks his nose. 

Luca was a bit nervous walking in but upon greeting me at the end of the day, JUMPED into my arms and said, "I LOVE KINDERGARTEN!!!"  I think it's a hit. 

His good buddy is in class with him so that made the scary first day so much more easy.  Brodie is the little brother of one of Mia's chums so these two boys have played through soccer games, softball games, pool dates, and many an afternoon school pick ups. 

We celebrated with a few special dinners this week and can say with a sigh of relief and happiness that the 2014-2015 school year is off without a hitch. 

End of Season





 Mia's final softball game of the season was this past Saturday.  Another season with the Pink Sox is in the bag.  It was a great year and the girls really took off with coach pitch.  Mia likes watching baseball with V now and talks about the plays.

Sweet Provosts

Tee Ball

This sweet kid played tee ball this year and he loved it!  He is a thoughtful player, fast and agile.  I think this kid has a future, but then again, I'm biased.  I do have to say, I never thought I'd be a "baseball mom", but I love this sport.

I'm so behind on logging photos that I thought I'd pick some highlights from the month.  Mia and one of her oldest and dearest, Maddie. 

Elizabeth came to town and we so loved sitting by the pool while the kids swam and catching up. 

My two swim team champs.  Mia is decorated with her Finals medals and both are wearing their season finisher medals. 

I've got climbers.  Both LOVE to rock climb. 

Mia gave me this sweet drawing and I adore it.  Notice our matching freckles.  She loves her freckles and tells me she loves them because I have them too.  I always remind her that freckles just mean a lifetime of fun outside, enjoying this great state. 

My dear Erin spoke at a ONE Colorado rally and I was there to support her along with her sweet family.  Here are her boys holding the banner.  I love that we are introducing our kids to being community minded from a young age.  These are activists right here. 

Had some awesome neighbors over for some wine and we were treated to a performance from the littles.  Who knew parenthood involved so many talent shows?

Softball cuties. 

We went to Vail to hang around and visit Rachel and we had a blast.  We bought some new t-shirts after playing in the river. 

Mia took this photo.  Such a great night with my one of my oldest. 

Chairlifts are the best.  When the kids are big enough for me to leave alone in town, or to hike on their own, I'll start running/hiking up to the top again.  These days though?  Coffee in hand with a ride is pretty great.
