Mia's First Horse Show

It was a cold December Saturday and seeing the horses being turned out for some play time was so beautiful.  The sky was gray and seeing the steam from their nostrils and the dust kick up was breath taking.  This was the day of Mia's first horse show!

She loves Nala and they rode beautifully together.

Little do people know that one of the most challenging aspects of hunter jumper is memorizing the course.  Here is Mia with her trainer going over the course again before beginning.

She took first in 5 events, and second in 1 event, which made her the Grand Champion.  Nice work on her first show!

Christmas Break 2019

Mia's friend danced in the Nutcracker so we kicked off the season by going to the performance with a few other friends.  It was phenomenal!!

Christmas Eve dinner at home.

The gingerbread village the kids made, complete with hand dipped ice cream cones turned upside down as trees!

Visiting the Brown Palace

Christmas dinner at Nana's with the family

Favorite gift by far from Nana!  A portable ping pong set which converts our well loved table to a ping pong table.  While it may not be regulation sized, this table provides hours of entertainment for us.  We love it.

Mia's new ukulele.  She is self taught and proud of it.  She knows all the chords now and I love listening to her strum as I move about the house.  It sounds like an island escape.

Skiing together.  SO fun!

Luca doing his thing.

Ice skating!

One of our favorite new dinners.  Mia's homemade pizza bites.  She makes the dough from scratch and then we fill them with fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, pesto, or veggies.

And of our course, more riding over break.  Thank God for that space heater.  It was 21 degrees when I took this photo.  Nothing keeps my girl away from horses.
