The whirlwind of May

Mia made me this gift for my birthday, which I adore.  She filled a jar with beautiful quotes and comments about me as her mother.  I cried.  Happy 41 indeed!

I celebrated Mother's Day with some of my favorite mamas...my own, Emily, and Monica.  So fun and easy with them.  Always.

Wrapped up the school year with a fun work party.  These ladies are some of the women in my life I'm closest to.  When you work day in and day out with people, they become family of sorts.

I won't be in the classroom next year and taking my kiddos to the Botanic Gardens this May on a field trip was bittersweet, because it's potentially my last field trip.  I watched them all dance around in the sun and ask questions and wonder and I thought, "How lucky I am....to bear witness."  Learning is magical.

My favorite season. Swim team!

Happy summer!!!

Last Day of School!!

We closed out fourth and second grades!  The kids had great years and are ready for summer break.  I say this every year when I think back upon the ways they have changed over the course of the year....my they have grown.

This was the beginning of the year for a little comparison.

Finishing Up Two Seasons

Spring soccer came to an end making way for Baseball.  The boys will be back together in the fall.

Mia was a great big sis and came to the games when she could.  Luca would go to her lacrosse games as well.

These kiddos have played together for at least three years now, I lose count!  Watching them together is pretty special.

So proud of these girls!  They really improved and came in second at the tournament!

They Fly

Luca just wanted to fly for his birthday.  He and Mia suited up and went to an indoor sky diving facility and had a blast.  V and I watched through glass as our kiddos soared with an instructor.  Very cool!

8 is Great!

Luca is 8!  I can't believe it but his birthday came and went on May 3 and we now have an 8 year old running around our midst.

This boy is spirited and determined.  He has grown so much this past year and is now a full fledged reader and writer, flag football player, soccer player, skateboarder, biker, and all around neighborhood warrior.

We started the day with donuts for us and for all of his classmates.

We went to Boondocks after school for dinner and some race track driving.  The sun came out after pouring rain all day.  A true birthday present!

We ate pizza, opened presents, and sang and cut cake.  This was a fun birthday!
